Re: Release Date, Payment Model
interesting form of payments, I'll probably just stick to the 30 day unlimited plan like a normal MMO.

Re: Release Date, Payment Model
The twenty hours is nice IMO, depending on how much time one spends on the game and actually in the action district.
It's flexible which is nice, not seen before in any MMO I've looked at.

Re: Release Date, Payment Model
I like the model very much. I'll probably end up using the traditional 30-day model during the summer, but while away at school, I certainly don't see myself going through more than 20 hours per month in the action district.

Re: Release Date, Payment Model
Through some things, I've noticed that a lot of people are complaining about it. But it seems their age-range is about 14-16. So hopefully this payment style will keep them out of the game

Re: Release Date, Payment Model
Thats a tad biased, seeing how a good friend of mine whos good at APB is 15.
People are smarter than that.
Just some can't fathom this non-traditional payment methods.
aka, ragefolk. which their age varies.

Don't forget the potential of playing for free =P,
if you're good with the designers, you can sell clothes and such for RTW points and convert it to free time in the Action districts. =D

Re: Release Date, Payment Model
I haven't had a chance to play in the last month or so did they ever fix the 32 bit OS problem with the low graphics even though its on high in the settings?

Re: Release Date, Payment Model
Not the last time I played, which was the end of May. (What I understand is that it was not a glitch, and is currently limited because they have huge memory leaks, and figure most people would flip out every time they run out of memory and the game crashes.)

Re: Release Date, Payment Model
The client was under a forced limitations back in May. That has since been removed.
Some of the issues with the 32 bit OS were solve with the new NVidia Drivers that are custom for APB.
With the new unhindered engine, performance has improved all around.
Sadly because the Beta Boards are not longer up, I can't link for you the exact quote from the patch notes, but the PTW patch had a line specifically noting that low end res 32 bit systems should see improvement. Seeing as I don't have a system like that, I can't say for sure.
As of Monday, everything was running fine.
As always though, it remains to be seen... literally.

Re: Release Date, Payment Model
There is a wide range of speculation and no confirmation. There are rumors from 10am EST to 10am RTW time and various options in between.
P.S.:
For the life of me I could never figure out how to use that program... I have started contemplating spending the $650 for a full version of Photoshop.
