There is one thing I have been struggling to figure out. If you watch this video you will see that the guy is using a nice gradient fill on the edges of the stripes. I did all kinds of things to duplicate the effect but when I tried it the gradient always came out so light that you could not tell I did anything. That is regardless of color and opacity. I have a bunch of things I want to try that use gradient fills, but if they always come out so light I will have to scrap most of them. Anyone know how I can pull this look off?

Re: Designer Question
Yea that car ends up looking pretty sick. I noticed the gradients they used were a custom symbol so that means the gradient itself is probly at least three layers. A line, the gradient, and the fading color. which in his case was yellow. If I remember after making a custom symbol the only color you can change it too is black, which makes the whole symbol black.
I didn't really mess with the effects excluding the outlines so I can't really say for sure.

Re: Designer Question
Hmmm... that is certainly an idea that I will have to play with.

Re: Designer Question
If I recall, the only gradients I really used were to make my sunglasses have a more 3-d looking glare, in which I used two yellows on top of each other from the top, and a brown on the bottom over orange sunnies, then set at a lower opacity. So I do believe Nytewing is correct in remembering that piling the gradients on top of themselves will cause the desired effect.

Re: Designer Question
Yup, Nyte is right. I find that 90% of my work is done within the symbol designer, where-as the 10% remaining is merely positioning and final color selection.
