    Hey all,

I know there are some of you who haven't had a chance to play the game yet but I figured I'd make a post where we could discuss our personal strenghts (and weaknesses) from a group standpoint (as opposed to the solo topic already posted here).

So if you were part of a criminal team (which is currently at a max of 4) what would be your specialty, job, strengths, ect.?

    Lupus
Primary Weapon of Choice: Assault Rifle (N-Tec/AK-47)
Secondary Weapon of Choice: Machine Pistol
    Favorite Role: Assault Specialist
    Secondary Role(s): Driver/Support

For me, I preform best at a medium range because from there I can rush forward if my opponent is using a long-range rifle, fall back if they are using a shotgun or submachine gun, and provide adaquate support to my teammates from a healthy distance.

I am a very adabtable jack-of-all-trades and I am pretty good with any weapon and can therefore fill almost any spot on a team, but I also don't really *excell* at any weapon in particular. I'm never really suprised when I'm beat out by someone who's used a single gun their entire time playing.

When I'm running with a team, I really like to be a getaway driver (which I think I'm pretty good at) or provide backup around an objective. Ambushes are fun and I feel my adaptability extends to predicting an enemies movements pretty well.
Of course, if I'm wrong an ambush can quickly turn on me.

This could be interesting both IC and OOC.

I like the idea of each man/woman knowing their place in a group and becoming an efficient team, a well-oiled machine if you will. It gives a sense of belonging.

Although I did not play too much mostly via technical inadequacies and the great, evil force named lag which made it...less than enjoyable. So here's to hoping retail won't give the same problems that I fear it may.

Back to the topic at hand, I would enjoy either being the "sniper" that can cover the team from a distance, or the close-range attention, carrying a nice shotgun or perhaps a trusty sidearm. I don't mind driving but if it is going to be anything like I have experienced then I will not do so well.

    All in all good idea.

Hey, this is pretty neat. Here's my character.

    Jess
Primary Weapon of Choice: Sniper Rifle
Secondary Weapon of Choice: Machine Pistol
    Favorite Role: Sniper, Ranged Support/Communication
    Secondary Role(s): Driver

I do fairly well at sniping and driving. I've had limited success with the SMG and NONE with Shotguns, so I just stick to what I know I'm good at, sniping. In addition, though I think I'm a pretty good driver in APB, the silliness of not losing any accuracy with a rifle while hanging out of the window of a speeding car makes me more valuable as a gunner when in a car rather than a driver. Not to mention, Sniper Rifles dish out so much damage they're fairly good against vehicles in a chase at distances.

I didn't have much time in the game during the KttC event, so I am not to familiar with the weapons and such. However, I did figure out the driving pretty quickly and got rather good at it in the 10 short hours that I played. I would say that is easily my biggest strength so far.

    Favorite Role:Driver, Fast Assault
    Secondary Role(s):Close range blitzer

I like driving in APB almost as much as poppin' a cap in some enforcers @$$. IMHO to me its more fun having a high speed chase during the escape missions then taking them out. We're shooting and blowing stuff up 99.9% of the time anyways so I like the breath of fresh air. (plus I get to force you all to listen to my music LOL)

With the primary weapon being a sniper rifle or the semi-auto obeya? I prefer medium to long range but with my joker secondary close range isn't a problem either. burst spray ftw.

I kinda suck hanging out of the window shooting stuff, but if were chasing or running away from another car, like sebudai said the rifles do blow up most light-med. armored vehicles pretty fast.

    my two cents anyways.

I agree, Vicarius - this could be a very interesting in-character avenue to explore. OOC-ly, though, I am much more proud of my driving abilities, than my shooting, so I have no problem ducking out of a firefight slightly early to secure a route to the next objective. If forced to fight, though, I'm a fan of the sniper and magnum combination, as, most of the time, I am pretty close to a car anyway, and will either be shooting from a far-off parking spot, or lobbing grenades and ducking behind things.

Also, it's nice to see so many getaway drivers because now we'll never be trapped!

    Hm...

Well, I find that in groups I prefer to stay in the vicinity of my allies, but off to the side. If I encounter enemies, I will notify my team and ambush them, either killing them, pinning them down, or pretending to be pinned down until my team mates arrive. Generally like to be in a place out of sight so I can attack my enemy as they are distracted.

I think a better judge of my skills and style would be from the battlefield, so hopefully I'll see you all there. o_o

With all these drivers we should have a race day or some event once we unlock some of the 'tuner' type cars.

From a roleplay standpoint, Chico doesn't enjoy killing people. He'd be more likely to beat someone up than shoot them.
BTW, I lag pretty bad because I'm on a sad internet connection, so I lose at shooting quite often. While this causes me to be less useful in most cases, I've found a way around that.

Chico runs from the police. Always. (I mean, I could possibly get talked into turning around and shooting...)

Weapon of Choice: Brass Knuckles (Whatever shoots fast and I don't have to be accurate with.)
Secondary Weapon of Choice: Car (I'm using the magnum pistol right now?)

Primary Role: Theft. Chico is skilled at stealing. This includes carrying objects that are considered heavy.
Secondary Role: Lagging so bad he's either driving into walls or shooting at a spot where the guy once was.

I've been gaining mixed results on the streets, but I think that's mostly due to having recreational players lumped into the same queues as full-time gamers. I hope I'll see more success when the population spreads out!

after getting more time in-game im switching the format a little bit so we can maybe group up into specialized teams in the future if the need arises. Since theres only so many Equipment slots any given player can have at one time.

As of now Nytes loadout looks like this

    Primary Weapon: OCA Semi
Secondary Weapon: A SA light machine gun
    Upgrade(?): Field Suppiler
Equipment: Spray bottle (20% faster tagging), Wire cutters (20%)

(will update as I unlock higher grade verisons but will stick with tagging, 'cuters, and arson.)

Maybe equipment doesnt matter as much but the upgrades could be worth looking into as having 3 mobile supply units in a group is kind of a waste. But we'll see cheers

An update of what I can bring to the table with Delinquent:

Primary Weapon: N-Tech Adeen (Dampening II, Savage II)
    Secondary Weapon: Act 44
Upgrade(?): Monolith III, Fast Regen III, Survivor II
Vehicles: Dolton Montane (Endurance II, Explosion Delay II), Charge Cisco, Packer Ceresco (Expanded Cargo II, Nitrous II, Endurance II), Sungymun Moirai (Steel Plating II, Raming II), Seyo Espachio, Charge Sentinel (Fast Repair II), Vegas G22 (Mobile Supply, Nitrous I)
Equipment: Bomb III, Crowbar IV, Jimmie IV, Gas Can III

I have two things I am good at. I am a great driver, and I get a lot of assists in combat. That is my focus and that is how Delinquent will put his skills to use.

    Thorsten

Primary Weapon: NTEC "Something or Other" / NFAS Autoshotgun
Secondary Weapon: Machine Pistol / .44 ASP
    Upgrade: None
Vehicle: Han Cellante "Econobox", Bishada "Asylum"
Equipment: Spraypaint, Crowbar, Door Ram, a Fistful of Trojans
    Roles:

    * Car Crasher: everything in San Paro is magnetic, I swear! (I suck at driving, but I'm getting better).

    * Bullet Magnet: they always get me. I don't know if its because they have a higher rating, better guns, or what have you, they always cut me down in a couple shots.

    * Ammo Waster: I hose these people with everything I have, and they don't notice. I don't think I'm missing because there's blood flying off them.

    * VOIP Insulter: "I swear, how could that guy even leave the character creation screen wearing that crap? Look at his vinyl shirt, what is he doing, cruising for gay action in Lavender Heights, getting his 'special needs' met? Oh, of course he has an NTEC... oh, of course a stunner. OMFG. Nice win button, douche. Great, just shoot me after arresting me with your f***ing win button, *****. F*****. What a f***ing douche. Is this on? Oh, hey, sorry... douche."

Assault Squad: We who are about to die salute you! Generally I'm best at rushing the enemy blazing with a machinegun or autoshotgun. This is the one game in which I can circle strafe decently. Occasionally I take the long range approach and try to snipe, but since they always find me it turns into an assault situation fairly quickly.

Flanker: After the first couple ownings, I get the hint and start flanking and coming around the back, moving around the area in a wide circle seeing what I can see. When I see them, I try to sneak up and attack. Many times I get the first few shots in.

Friend Who's Always Up For Something: I'm perfectly content to let someone else drive or do someone's missions, though I would appreciate doing missions I can get contact standing from. I like to stay with the group so we can watch each other's back and target multiple guns on one enforcer (it sure works when they do it to me).

Primary Weapon: NTEC 5 Sidekick / Obeya "Rose" / N-HVR "Hilltop"
    Secondary Weapon: Machine Pistol
    Upgrade: Field Supplier
    Vehicle: Han Cellante "Econobox"
    Equipment: none yet
    Roles:
Assault/Flanker: Wild card specialty. I'm usually the 'weak in the pack', so other players tend to focus on me to take me out fast. I try to take at least one of them with me while doing so. Getting way better with the grenades, which I've grown to use to get more "Reach from the Grave" medals XD
Whenever possible I try to sneak up on the enemy. There has been times that this has saved others from getting arrested.

Sniper: None of you guys have seen me snipe yet. In my previous crim character I became rather good with the Hilltop, which is why I now transferred it to Trauma [I don't use my other crim anymore, so she won't miss it]. As soon as I can equip it, it'll be glorious! [I think?]

Support: I'm comfortable in support roles. I am in no way an amazing player, and I'm still learning things. I love to tag along in missions, but just like Thorsten, I like to raise my standing with characters I have unlocked [which are only the basic right now -.-]. Buuut... I don't mind just playing for the sake of playing. Even if my unlocks will not be as amazing. [although weapon unlocks due to group standing increase = win]

NOT driver: I will drive if the situation calls for it, but some of you have already seen my horrible driving. Servers usually lag for me just enough for my driving to be atrocious, yet not interfere in fighting so much. There's one reason why my character is blind. Why would you put a blind girl behind the wheel? Are you crazy?! :p

Suicide squad: Respawning is a normal task for me. I am not afraid to die [unless it's a mission that involves staying alive]. If the mission doesn't require me to stay alive I'll gladly be the meat shield or the decoy. It's a common task for me in team-based games, and as said before, I will try to at least take one enemy down with me.

    I like this topic.

    Primary: High Velocity Sniper Rifle
    Secondary: Magnum
    Primary Role: Scouting/Flanking
    Secondary: Destruction

I just recently got my hands on the sniper and I've fallen in love. Generally, I'm all about shotties and cloes combat. But I'm sniping pretty well so why mess up a good thing. I am also very good at handling the larger vehicles like trucks and vans. Sports cars....not so much. Also, torching and stealing are a plus.

    Great thread!

All stats are current as of this afternoon and I'm always keeping my eyes out for a hot new piece...

Primary: Obir "Wyatt Earp" burst-fire, to conserve ammo, or SMG
    Secondary: .44 Magnum
Vehicle: 4x4 truck, 4 door not sure if its the Patriot or what. Good accel., great handling, and a heluva rammer.

    Roles:

Fisher(Recon):They tell me not to go in alone but someone has to stick their head in so we can see what we're up against.
Alley Madness:Close quarters combat. You either run away or right at em. I like to play a little game called "Whack-a-Mole" where he lays down fire I lay down fire I reload primary and secondary and wait for him to show his ugly head. I'm pretty good with this at mid-range but always get stunned or conc'd up close or sniped from afar.
Batting clean-up: Often targeted as a weak link I'm usually first to die and respawn sometimes I make it back just in time to put the last 3 rounds in a stupid 'Forcer so I can claim the assist, rescuing my near-fallen comrades.

Got a bounty on your head? I've got two words for you RUNNNN! While I give this big shot a love-tap in the bumper. Look, a concussion grenade may take out a van-load of peeps, but can a van-load of peeps take out a badge-wearing cock-slapper? YOU BET YOUR ASS!

Well, game-time. I hope. Been having trouble logging on but I'm going to try again because I'm stubborn.

EDIT: I forgot about the SMG Tango! It's a little dance I invented where we run in circles wasting ammo trying to waste each other. I can't seem to find any Enforcers to fill my dance-card, however, but I guess you could say that suppressive fire can in fact be strategically advantageous.
