    The Charter RDPrinc
Philosophy: We are the Rain Dogs. We are a gang. We are individuals. Having come to this city thumbing west, looking for a home, carving out a living, or searching for a family, we have all found one another as denizens of a broken city. Within of San Paro, we are labeled as scoundrels, mongrels, criminals - in circumstance, maybe so. However, at heart, we are storytellers, artists, bards. We are champions of a culture that will not adhere to the CSA’s arbitrary distinction between virtue and vice.

Principles: The Rain Dogs are a group of roleplayers and storytellers within San Paro. We stand for literature, we speak for art, we shout for individuality. Best described by our condition, we are vagabonds that have come together as a way to stay afloat in this city. Therefore, should a member present himself as such to another, it is their prerogative to be accepted as such, and that all subsequent interactions between these two or more parties take place with this in mind. Moreover, a member, finding that a given course of action may contend with the well-being or safety of a member of either the public, or of the group itself, should venture to find an alternative path of least resistance.

    The Charter RDRules
    Rules:

Social Conduct: There are to be no remarks at any time that could be deemed derogatory or inflammatory to any group or individual. Please, use some courtesy and guile when speaking. Additionally, please refrain from grief-ing or flaming individuals whether in the city, or on a message board. When able, please use the best spelling and grammar you can muster – we are a bastion of storytelling, and can not do that without proper literacy.

While effectively more lax than the limitations on text chat, please exercise your best discretion when using APB’s built-in VOIP service as well. Moreover, when roleplaying, try to refrain from using the VOIP system, especially when taking on a persona with whom your own voice would not fit.

Customization: In speaking to in-game customization, there are to be no derogatory, inflammatory, or obviously inappropriate messages or pictures used on vehicles, clothing, tattoos, or graffiti. Moreover, members should not be found nude, or obscenely lacking in clothing at any time.

Discipline: Should the unfortunate circumstance arise where it may that, from among membership, there would be an occasion of intentional denigration or upset toward either the whole or individual; an effort of containment and response will be enacted in a style thought of as appropriate to and by, the later detailed authorship recognised as inherent to the structure of the referenced collective. If, at any time, a member is viewed in discord with anything set forth in this charter, that individual may be warned, limited, or removed from the Rain Dogs, at the discretion of Eleutherophobia, or another founding member.

    Conventions:

Roleplaying: We are a roleplaying group, and as such, would encourage members to remain in-character as often as possible. This applies to activity within San Paro that involves an obvious amount of publicity or other roleplayers, and on the roleplaying sections of any message boards. If a member is viewed repeatedly breaking character in a public arena, they may be subject to disciplinary action.

All chat channels, including gang chat (as of July 25, 2010) are now in-character by default.

Members should, as much as possible, contribute to the Rain Dogs storytelling, and are encouraged to post their own stories within the “Priceless Tomes” board.

Moreover, please exercise basic etiquette when contributing to another individual’s story, or roleplaying event. Do not do anything that could be considered outside the proper flow of events thusfar.

Activity and Congregation: As much as possible, members should remain active both within the city, and on the forums. However, an inability to keep a presence in San Paro is understandable, and as such, we ask that members remain steadily active on these boards so that they are not deemed inactive.

Should a member be believed inactive, they will be removed from the roster, and gang listing. If this happens in error, the member should make note of such in their original Classifieds ad.

Periodically, the Rain Dogs will meet to discuss the state of the gang, San Paro, and any upcoming events or storytelling ventures. All members are encouraged to attend, and bring up whatever issues they may have noted. Notice of these congregations will be present on these boards, and as the gang message of the day.

    Policies:

Customization: In furtherance of the coherency of the group itself, it is suggested, that while engaged in an assortment of activities as listed above; a mode of apparel may be undertaken as is recognizable to the extent of rendering the member visible as such to other members. The extent to which this may be employed, however; is also to the discretion of the members in question. Should a member seek to do so, they are encouraged to find a fashion that fits within their own character’s canon. The Rain Dogs insignia: RainDogsTag , is available to members. Though, it is not necessary to use this insignia in lieu of one's own design.

Gang Uniformity: There is no specified gang uniform. However, there are clothing options available that, as a group, are viewed as part of the Rain Dogs storytelling, and their designs can be found here. Any member looking to obtain said clothing should contact Eleutherophobia with said request.

Resources: Should a member find themselves in need of assistance or support, that while it would be entirely encouraged that either or both may be offered, it is to the discretion of the requested member as to what extent this may be given.
