    Arrested Empty Arrested

    Post  Ragnarok918 Fri Jun 25, 2010 8:19 pm

The air in the precinct is humid, outside the rain doesn’t seem to ever want to end. The door flies open and the people inside, use to the relative silence are interrupted from their work. The rain, sirens and flashes of police lights and lightning fill the background as a young cop drags a piece of street trash in.

“Sit!” The officer shoves the kid onto a bench. Turning away and removing his soaked hat he looks at the secretary. “I need to speak to the Captain”

“Sure go on in, he’s just signing some requisitions.”

    “What is this, Officer Reynolds?”

    “Captain…”

“I ask you to bring me a big fish. Get someone in here who can give us real information and you bring me this… punk kid?”

A young man sits on a bench in an open room. Hands cuffed together, he’s obviously been in this position before. He scans the room slowly, noticing anything that could be helpful, just as he’s accustomed. The captain continues looking him over; light blue hair, wifebeater and jeans. Nothing special for San Paro.

“Just look at his file,” The young officer tries to hand his superior the manila folder. Holding it out, his hand shakes, though he isn’t new to the force, Captain Myers scares everyone. The older man snatches it away, so quickly that Reynolds thinks his hand may have been cut, but a quick examination shows nothing. Opening the file the Captain grabs his glasses from the desks and puts them on gingerly. He stops at the first line.

“Under name it just says ‘Aces,’ why did you bring him to me?”

“It’s obviously an alias, but he’s never given a real name. Keep reading”

The captain is obviously annoyed, but continues reading down the paper. “20 years old; heh, he’s a short bugger; Let’s see pickpocket, B&E, Grand Theft Auto, defacing public property and a whole lot more, nothing special for San Paro. Why are you wasting my time with this, Officer?”

“I think he’s Angelo’s kid, He’s been running with the G-Kings for a long time. They look just a like, without the blue hair anyway.” A wave of realization slowly rolls over the Captain’s face. And his eyes dart from the pages in front of him to the bench. “Right age, been causing trouble since he was in diapers, he even has the same MO as Ang…”

    “Shut up, where is he?”

Officer Reynolds looks out the office windows and sees the empty bench. “SHIT!” He runs out of the Captain’s office and quickly looks around the room, but the boy is nowhere to be seen. He runs out of the precinct, but its raining cats and dogs and visibility is low. “Son of a bitch!”

Whenever the cop, Reynolds, annoying wretch, left the room, I began scheming. I’ve been caught a few times, not many, but a few. However, it was never for long. Never the same cop, but Reynolds seems a little too interested. I need to go. Looking around the room there were two cops talking and the secretary, busy on the computer. Cops always think handcuffs are a magical tool that stops criminals from moving. I casually get up, acting as if I’m stretching just in case someone turns. But nothing. I slowly walk to the door, but then I hear Reynolds scream “SHIT!” And I dart out of the precinct.

It’s raining, so getting away should be easy. Enforcers near the precinct are never looking for crims. In and out of alleys, avoiding contact with people and generally being cautious, after about twenty minutes I make it into my apartment. The crummy rundown apartment with old furniture, a tv that barely works and now with a puddle of water on the floor. I remove my shoes, socks and jeans all soaked.

“You’re late,” Gwyn, my roommate stands in the doorway to the kitchen. “And don’t you look pathetic.”

Soaked, teeth chattering I mange to eek out “Reynolds” as I raise my hands showing the beautiful bracelets he gave me.

“Awww, come over here then, we’ll get you out of those.” She makes quick work of the handcuffs. “Now go get changed. I’ll warm you up something to eat.”

While I put on dry versions of what I was already wearing, I pour a shot of whiskey from a bottle on the table. “No, I’ve still got to do the job. Reynolds didn’t get my car so I just have to get to it and deliver the goods.”

“Can’t it wait? It’s still raining outside”

“Not if I want to be able to walk tomorrow. Besides I like the rain.” I grab the pistol from the top of my dresser, two spare magazines and quickly drink the shot. “I’ll be back soon.” As I walk back out the front door, grabbing Gwyn’s car keys, she looks out from the kitchen.

“That’s what you said this morning.”

((Well, I got in on the KttC and found APB was surprisingly fun and customization was great. So I've decided to try and find a fun group of people to play and RP with. And this group seems great. I should be very active until school starts up and from then on I will definitely have time to post but not sure about playing. I have one semester left but it should be a tough one. Hope you liked it))
